Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 1230 into law, which is a huge victory for public health in California!  This new law which goes into effect on January 1, 2025, and will increase the civil penalties for selling or providing a tobacco product to anyone under 21. It also authorizes the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) to seize and destroy flavored tobacco products or tobacco product flavor enhancers at any retail location.
