Tobacco Regulatory Science Small Grant Program (R03)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is offering funding through the Tobacco Regulatory Science Small Grant Program (R03).

This grant supports early-career researchers who want to run small studies that can help inform FDA tobacco regulations under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.

Projects can focus on topics like tobacco products, addiction, health effects, user behavior, health disparities, or the impact of new products. The program is a good fit for testing new ideas, building research skills, and preparing for larger grants in the future.

Grants provide up to about $75,000 total for projects lasting up to two years.

The program is currently open, and the next application deadline is July 14, 2026. You can find full details and how to apply on Grants.gov.
